The 9th Shanghai International Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Forum (Bio-Forum 2007) has been held at Galaxy Hotel on July 3-5, 2007.

 

Hosted by Modern Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Industry Office of Shanghai Municipality and organized by Shanghai Center of Research & Development of New Drugs, Shanghai Technological and Industrial Promotion Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine, The Institute Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Technology Convention & Exhibition Co., Ltd, Bio-Forum 2007 also win the support of many authorities such as Ministry of Science and Technology, State Food and Drug Administration, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine , Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Economical Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA, USA), Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association (CBA, USA) and so on.

 

Over years’ effort, Bio-Forum has provided a global forum for the exchange of information, ideas and experience transcending geographical and economical barriers to facilitate the interaction and cooperation among scientists and entrepreneurs in the area of biotech & pharmaceutical industry.

With the theme of Biotechnology and Pharmacy Creativity and Cooperative Strategy, the conference consists of five paralleled sessions: Innovation and industrialization of biotechnology , New drugs and the internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Biotechnology and pharmacy investment and cooperation opportunity, Pharmacy economic information and policy trend, Agricultural biotechnology and biopesticide.

 

The conference invited William J. Rutter (Chairman and CEO of Synergenics, LLC), Tamas Bartfai (a member of Academia Europaea, director of department of neuropharmacology in The Scripps Research Institute), Zhao Guoping(Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), Stephen Friend(Executive VP of Merck), Mark Powell (Vice President of BMS)etc. addressed their Key-note speeches.

More than 700 participants from 15 countries and regions attended the conference. About 130 delegates are from abroad (including USA, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Israel, Singapore, Thailand, China Taiwan and China Hong Kong) and others are domestic.
