Shanghai International Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Forum (Bio-Forum), which is hosted by Modern Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Industry Office of Shanghai Municipality, has been successfully held for 8 times since 1995. With support from Ministry of Science & Technology of the People’s Republic of China, State Food and Drug Administration, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Science & Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals, Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association, etc, Bio-Forum has progressively evolved into an influential international conference in the area of biotechnology and pharmacy. It plays an important role in China’s Biotech & Pharmaceutical scientific innovation and industrialization.

Bio-Forum has attracted an increasing number of world-renowned scientists, entrepreneurs and other outstanding specialists, including academicians from US, Russia and China, senior presidents or vice presidents of international pharmaceutical corporations such as Merck, Novartis, Roche, Lilly, Bayer, Biogen, GlaxoSmithKline, financial and investment experts from well-known biotech & pharmaceutical venture capital corporations such as MPM, Lehman Brothers, Sofinnova, Toucan and Montgomery as well as senior officers and experts from SFDA, FDA, NIH, BIO, US Pharmacopeia, England Development Agency, etc. The number of attendees at the Bio-Forum has increased from 100 to above 500 during the past decade, with more than one-fifth were international participants.
